Red Squirrel Woven Badge

Katfish Designs is a local maker based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Kath handmakes all of the creatures herself, in her small chapel studio surrounded by the Yorkshire Pennines.

“Sally the Red Squirrel hugs herself with a blanket of warm tail and contemplates which of her secret dreys will hold her for the night. As she gathers cones for her winter larder, last years forgotten treasures are already becoming the forest that hides her.”

Sally Squirrel is made from a burnt orange overcheck Harris Tweed. Her belly, tufted ears and tail have been needle- felted with natural merino fibres. Her whiskers have been hand stitched with orange cotton and she has a black resin button eye. The brooch is backed with black felt and fastens with a 2.5cm silver tone bar style brooch back.

Sally measures approximately 9x 7cm.

She comes mounted on a manilla luggage label.

As with all of the creatures, Sally is handmade so there may be minor differences to the one in the picture.
