Green Woodpecker Woven Badge

Katfish Designs is a local maker based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Kath handmakes all of the tweedy birds herself, in her small chapel studio surrounded by the Yorkshire Pennines.

“Big Ed the Green Woodpecker is laughing at you. Yaffling with his family about the coming rain. Ed doesn't mind a shower after all that dirty work. Digging for ants in a carpet of fresh mown grass then hoovering up with his long, sticky tongue.”

Ed the Green Woodpecker is made from oatmeal, red, acid green and green herringbone Harris tweed. He has a beady little black resin button eye. The details on his face have been needle felted from natural merino fibres. The layers of fabric have been appliquéd together and backed with black felt. He fastens with a 2.5cm silver tone bar brooch back.

He measures approximately 6 x 10cm

Ed comes displayed on a manilla luggage label.

Because all of the tweedy birds are hand made, they all have a distinct personality. There may be small differences between yours and the one in the picture
