Blackbird Woven Badge

Katfish Designs is a local maker based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Kath handmakes all of the tweedy birds herself, in her small chapel studio surrounded by the Yorkshire Pennines.

“Jack Blackbird is a solitary boy, hopping in the shadows beneath the foliage and always watching you with his yellow ringed eye. Though his feathers may not be bright, his is considered the most beautiful of songs, as he calls to you that the rain has finally ended.”

Jack Blackbird is made from black and charcoal Harris tweed with a purple overcheck and plain black tweed. He has a beady little black resin button eye, ringed with golden felt. The layers of fabric have been appliquéd together and backed with black felt. He fastens with a 2.5cm silver tone bar brooch back.

He Measures approximately 7 x 10cm.

Because all of the tweedy birds are hand made, they all have a distinct personality. There may be small differences between yours and the one in the picture.
